I remember playing catch with my dad when I was a kid. We spent hours playing softball because he was my coach. I enjoyed spending time with my dad, as uncoordinated as I was. Perhaps the best gifts he ever gave me were his time and a little bit of coordination, which I learned through hours of catch and throw and hit and run.

All of those years of playing catch taught me about trust, communication, conflict, hard work, and relationships.
My husband catches me. He plays catch with me. I love spending time with him. He catches me off guard from time to time and I lighten up when he laughs. I look forward to the rest of our lives together, without too much hit and run.
I'm not sure I married a man like my dad. But I know both the men in my life catch me.
Catch may be another word for love.
